Maple Joy made ADGA Elite in 2018 (96% PE) as a FF, and then again 2019 (98% PE).
Milk Test High: 6.0# (2F)
As a FF: 5.0# BF High: 9.9% (@ 6 mos fresh)
1290# for 305 as FF. Her current DHIR is still in progress.
Maple Joy (or MJ) is one of our really nice Oliver daughters. Not only is she beautiful, she is also super capacious, with a wonderful udder. In addition, MJ is one of the sweetest young does we have. Her personality is very similar to her dam, who is also one of my most favorite older does.
On April 6, 2019, MJ kidded quads and decided she didn’t want to eat any grain for about 5 days. Its just for that reason, we tend to keep our does a bit on the heavier side. Because MJ pours so much of herself into milk—-its harder to keep weight on her. Obviously, nursing quads, she was still fairly thin when we had our AGS Classification 3 weeks later. In spite of that, MJ Classified really well, scoring a 91% Mammary Quality, Shape Texture, 90% Rear Udder and in Dairy Character: Angularity, Neck, Ribs, & Skin. She scored 93% for Style, length of Bone, & Femininity in General Appearance).
With ADGA’s LA, both MJ and her dam Surprise scored E’s in Rump. (Surprised by Joy 7*M 7*DAR EEEE91, 1x GCH, Top 10 Milker, 1300# in 305 days)
In July 2019, the ADGA Appraiser loved MJ. He scored her some of our highest Dairy scores and Es in udder texture. He actually commented that she was so dairy, she needed to mature one more year for her body to catch up with her udder. A good thing. :)
We were so delighted to see Maple earn Elite again, her PE climbing from 96% to 98%.
At this time, Maple is 199 days fresh—-and has already surpassed the 1000# mark.
